Professor ratings..

So, I am into my second week of classes and feel its a perfect time to share my teacher/class ratings on this delightful snow day that allowed me not to have accounting today :-)

1. Business Statistics with Bhisham Gupta, Tu/Th 10:00-11:35
If you recall, this is the class that i had to retake last semester because of stupid el taha. So far, the class seems a little be more controlled and ive definitely learned things in 3 classes with gupta that i didnt learn in el taha's class, like exact definitions and certain things like that. I am leanring more detailed information I would say. he has a much thicker accent i think though but i sit in the front (which is a plus for me) and we actually have incentive to pay attention in class because we dont have a confusing book of his notes already printed in front of us that we learn from. He writes all the informatino on the board and we copy it down and of course add additional notes as we see fit. Ive been doign the problems in the book (which he follows along wiht thank god) and have had a fairly easy time getting through them which is another plus. this is something i didnt do last semester.. but el taha didnt follow the book anyways so it was weird.l. OH DID I MENTION THIS PROFESSOR ACTUALLY TEACHES FROM THE BOOK?!?! YESSSSSSSSS

2. Introduction to Marketing with Warren Purdy, Tu/Th 11:45-1:00
This professor is pretty interesting. he can be a little intimidating, but its because he wants everyone to participate in conversations and such and I feel a little AHHG about that so. He is a really interesting professor though and this is the first class i have taken that is actually for my major!!! hooray for that, i am excited :-) The class is interesting, its basically just lecturing from powerpoint slides so far but hey im used to that and i dont mind that, its informative and i learn a lot i think.

3. Philosophy with Jason Read, Tu/Th 1:15-2:30
I love this class. This and marketing are probably my favorite classes. When he first walked in the room, I thought he was a student, I couldn't even believe it!! He is awesome though because he has ways of making silly little jokes about philosophy like when we read the apology and crito, (about socrates trial and plato trying to get socrates to break out of prison for those of you who dont know) theres a part where he asks us why socrates didnt want to live in exile, and my professor is like well he knew he couldnt go to sparta because theya re too busy yelling and doing crunches all the time because if you wear a cape and a speedo all the time you are gonna wanna look good!!! LOL IT WAS SO FUNNY i mean probably not as funny as it was coming from him and might be a have to be there moment but it was HILARIOUS. I love this professor, he makes philosophy interesting and i think i do like it beyond its complicated writing and such.

4. Accounting with Jeffrey Shields, Mo/We 11:45-1:00
This class is alright. Ive only had this class twice so far so i mean we havent really been able to get into accounting a whole lot, we did an exercise about factors that affect small businesses and the type of decisions they have to make but thats it. He seems like a nice enough guy. he is putting points on attending extracurricular actitivities basically because he wants us to get involved. blah, thats annoying but oh well, gotta do what you gotta do..

5. Linguistics with Dana ?? and Wayne Cowart, ONLINE
This class seems like it is going to be pretty eays. there are a lot of assignments but they are basically just a lot of reading and such. Basically like the load of a once a week class and everything is due sunday at midnight. so far i dont mind it, its kind of interestinggg :-P WE WILL SEE HOW THIS GOOOES

so thats my little professor overview.

On another note, things are going pretty well in life i guess. Lots of homework for most of my classes, or a lot of reading anyways. marketing, accounting, philosophy are all going to be a lot of reading, but for philosophy thats all there really is all semester besides essays. It will be nice to have a class i dont have to worry about studying for tests then again i havent had to write essays since like, UNE fall semester '07 so I may be a little rusty considering its been like over a year... I think I will be okay though, he is a nice teacher and his class is interesting enough. he makes it fun.

i am currently at bretts right now because i was goign to go to class from here btu since class was canceled ill probably jstu stay here again tonight since the weather isbad and go to class from here in the AM. woot woot!! Brett is still sleeping though, right next to me and i might need to wake him up soon to venture out into the snow with me to grab some snacks before the roads and everything get too horrid. hooray for 8-12, 9-15 more inches of snow.. just what i want... woot.. ;-) (i have heard both measurements, i hope its really not going to be 15 inches, if it is ill fucking cry so so hard! :-( UGH!!!)

ambitions, goals, desires..

So i have decided to cut out some things from my diet and i am sticking to it because boyfriend has to help me.

  1. Only drinking water, going to cut soda out and try to drink only a little bit of milk. Tea is still allowed with an occasional hot chocolate.
  2. Avoiding breads as much as possible along with pasta (which is extremely hard for me to do)
  3. No red meat (i dont really eat red meat anyways i just think its icky..)
  4. Basing my food intake on fresh fruits, veggies, nuts, salads, and cheerios, among a few other things.
  5. No chips.
I'm hoping by summer I can change my eating habits and just have a healthier, more fitting lifestyle. I want to lose some weight, but its gotten to a point where I want more than to just lose weight for now, i want to keep it off and not feel guilty about what i eat.

Anyways, on to another note, lets change to a better tone.

Classes start tomorrow. I am taking:
  • Managerial Accounting
  • Business Statistics (retaking it because my grade wasnt good enough last semester.. balls..)
  • Linguistics (online class)
  • Philosophy
  • Introduction to Marketing

Needless to say, I am super excited for everything almost, except business statistics... and if i have a good accounting professor, i should be good too.

I miss having an apartment. its just not the same.. i hate not being with brett all the time or knowing that he is just up the stairs if he isnt right there with me. it makes me so so sad :-(
I still see him all the time but i mean after knowing what its like to live with him it just isnt the same. Wish I could be with Foxy and my baby both at the same time.. its so hard not being able to be with both of them all the time. its going to be a lot harder once school starts back up because practically all my time is spent doing homework..' just to be able to see him and be around him im going to have to bring my homework to his house and work on it there which is better than not being wiht him at all but it still stinks we acnt just have time to be together.

By the way, our 2 year anniversary was on January 16, it was absolutely wonderful. and if we have made it together for 2 years, this obstacle will only test us and hopefully make our love stronger. I strongly believe we are at a point in our relationship now where we may have our disagreement slike always, but we will be okay in the long run and we will be better for it.

i love him with my whole heart.. in ways i never knew could possibly exist.. and its so nice for a change to know that he feels the same way, no matter how i look or act.. or what i say.. he loves ME for ME.. how could i possibly ask for anything more?.. he is everything i have always dreamed about and more.. <3

knitting 101

So knitting is what i do when im sitting in front of my tv with nothing else to do.

I went to ac moore today and bought a book about knitting and crocheting so i can learn some different patterns and hopefully make some pretty neat knitted things.. id love to make some cool things for foxy, that would be absolutely hilarious haha<3>

I also picked up a tote and some fabric to lline a tote bag for school and added a pouch for pens and pencils because the bag i have right now is a little old and is really dirty... and it has happy bunny on it and ive had it since i was like 16 (thank you alli chamberlain, it served me well!) but it is starting to get super dirty from over use :-(. I got a black tote bag and got a red based fabric with chinese symbols on it... below the symbols it says what the symbol means. The symbols are sideways in my bag becaues of the cut of the fabric but oh well, no one pays that much attention to it anyways i figure :-P. The pocket is right side up though.. LOL.

whatever man, its just for me and it works :-) i have to finish sewing in my lining but i have to go buy some black thread because i thought i had some.. but i didnt.. i used red thread on the rest of it but i dont want it to be visible where i sewed in my lining obviously!!!

havent seen brett much in the past couple of days.. hoping i can go see him tomorrow and spend a majority of the day/night with him..

ordered my books online for this semester today to pick up in the store.. at the same time, ive got to turn in my books from last semester as welll... WOOT WOOT.. HOW EXCITING.. at least i get a little bit of extra cash back in my pocket, yayaaa..

think im going to go look through my knitting book before calling it quits and heading to bed... <3

Happy 2009

Hope everyone had a great new years, mine was pretty decent, had a nice relaxing night with my baby!

So only a few large goals this year:
1) pass business statistics with an acceptable grade for business statistics
2) bring up my GPA
3) find a new apartment with brett
4) make/save $$$

thats pretty much it.. just gotta focus on the things i want and put all my energy there.

I've been feeling mighty creative lately and just want to keep making different crafty things. After i graduate school, i hope to eventually open my own little art boutique to sell my crafts and/or sell craft materials. I have been way into them lately!!! I want to take an intro to drawing course soon if possible from usm... lindsey took one and showed me her work and it was incredible, such an improvement from her first pieces to her last pieces, they were amazing!!

Speaking of Lindsey, she also taught me how to knit the other day which is actually fun.. its pretty relaxing. I want to start making purses but i gotta see if i can use my moms sewing machine and she said its not working super awesome right now because she has to fix it up. and oil it or something weird like that.

I want to start learning to do different things with knitting, but i suppose i should start with just a simple scarf or something haha i havent even finished one project that would also be a good idea. oh well, im too anxious and what not.. knitting is TIME CONSUMING!! great way to kill a lot of time pretty quick, can't lie.

I should probably start beading again, but its becoming a very expensive project and ive probably invested over $500 easily in the past few years, probably more like $1000 at this point.. if i didnt bead id probably have soo much more money lol. knitting is much cheaper but takes a lot more time.. i can finish a necklace in aboout a half hour at much higher costs, and knitting will take probably a week to a month depending on how often i work on everything.

WHICH EVERYTHING ELSE DEPENDS ON HOW I DO ON MY SCHOOL WORK AND IN CLASSES THIS NEXT SEMESTER. ugh. lawdy. so irritating.
