I finished reading two books since my last post:
My Sister's Keeper: Took a while to get used to the chapters and the set up of the book as view points from characters as opposed to actual chapters.. But it was an extremely awesome book. The end totally threw me for a loop though. It was DEFINITELY a tear jerker.. I want to see the movie now though, i think i could handle it.. I HOPE.. Its a great story though, totally would recommend.
The Looking Glass Wars: Also an amazing book.. It was a nice change of pace from my sisters keeper for sure. This book is another take on Alice in Wonderland, basically saying that the character of Alice (though she spells it Alyss) is real and Lewis Caroll took her version of wonderland and created it into this childish fictional story. For example, all of the characters were changed. The mad hatter is actually the queens personal body guard and his name is Hatter Madigan. The Chesire cat is really an assassin who is half human and half feline.. because he has 9 lives. Very cool read if you are an alice in wonderland fan or you like that sort of fantasy stuff. Ive been all into it lately, Im just waiting for brett to get me the harry potter books he has from his garage, grr! ive been bugging him for a month lol :-P Also, this is part of a trilogy. i dont think the last book has been released but the second one is out, called "seeing red".. cant wait to pick a copy of that up!
So thats it for books for now. Im goign to start reading the alchemyst, the ssecrets of the immortal nicholas flamel soon. its my next venture!
So I've seen a lot of lindsey since she has been home which is lovely because she leaves us again on Saturday for UNH :-( terribly sad if you ask me..
We've gone on shopping trips, beach trips, chilled by her pool, and just relaxed. Weve had some fun nights since shes been home and had some great memories. Its been like Lindsey, rosa, keith (rosas boyfriend), brett, and i hanging out and its been super super fun. i love it!!
I just got my rebate check or whatever from USM for the extra amount over my original loan which is for over 1200 :-) SUPER EXCITED.. probably gong to try to scoot tto the bank to cash that shit before the bank closes today if i can :-P
Well, in other news, School starts aug 31 and im pretty excited.
BRETT IS EVEN TAKING CLASSES AT USM THIS SEMESTER!!!!!!!!!!
I seriously could not be more thrilled :-) hes taking an intro to political science course and an english course for now. If he passes this math placement test he has to take, he might also be taking a math course, but thats up in the air still at this point.. BUT UGH! im so amazed and so proud of him for signing up... This has been like 2 years of procrastination finally happening :-) YAY!!
